HBD SCREMES REPORT 🥹
We're two years old today (+DATEBOOK May 5–11)
Welcome back to Datebook, the weekly guide to literary events in New York, London, and LA. All events listed in local time. FREE LETTER TODAY.
Friends, we’re TWO YEARS OLD today! I logged on to substack.com on May 5, 2024, and sent this email to 160 subscribers:
Two years later, there are over a thousand of you reading this. Pinch me!!
In the second year of SR, I introduced the paid subscription, which gives readers of DATEBOOK early access to the most popular, likely-to-sell-out events. I also launched two new series: DIRECT PRESS, the monthly tasting guide pairing books and wine; and SCENE REPORT STARTED PACKS, where I get to playfully feature the people without whom SR would have no reason to exist—reading series hosts!
So, what’s next for Scremes Report? We’re not reinventing the wheel in year three. You can still expect this weekly letter to be the final word in literary events not to miss in NYC, London, and LA. I can tell you, I’ll be launching a new series, exclusively for paid subscribers, that explores the writing process of my favorite authors. Stay tuned for more on that this summer… And expect more in-person events from yours truly!
Okay, okay, enough of me celebrating. I’m genuinely grateful for each of you. Thank you for reading Scremes Report. ✨
Now, without further ado, the events of the week.
If you have an event you’d like me to include in DATEBOOK, email me.
